5 NBA GLEAGUE FORWARDS WHO CAN IMPACT A NBA TEAM IMMEDIATELY by Elliot day
Paul Watson Jr The 27 year old Fresno State Alum has already had a taste of the NBA playing for the Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors, and most recently the OKC Thunder. Throughout his professional career, Watson has shown he can score on every level he has played. Paul would be a perfect fit for a veteran playoff team coming off the bench to provide scoring.
Justin James Justin James is another one of those players who has had a brief experience in the NBA. The 6'7 Forward started his NBA career playing for the Sacramento Kings, where he spent most of his playing time on the G-League affiliate Stockton Kings. He produced some high scoring games while playing for Stockton, and showed that he can do it consistently when he was given minutes. This past season Justin signed short term contracts with the Utah Jazz & New Orleans Pelicans, but unfortunately didn't see any action with those respective teams. Justin James is a 25 year old who can provide scoring, and will instantly boost the bench production for any NBA team. .
Justin Anderson Justin Anderson, unlike the other players on this list, is a well traveled NBA Veteran. Justin was a 1st Rd. pick back in 2015, where he played for the Dallas Mavericks for a couple seasons. Since then, he has bounced around the NBA & G-League trying to find his way on a NBA roster. Justin has a great all around game, which is very beneficial to the current playstyle of position-less basketball. At 6'5 231 lbs, Justin could play the 3-5 position for teams in a small ball lineup with with the help of his 6-11 wingspan.
Matt Ryan Matt Ryan is arguably the best pure 3-pt shooter in the G-League. This past season Matt played for the Grand Rapids Gold, and later joined the Boston Celtics as a 2-way contract player. Matt averaged 19.4 ppg in the G-League, and shot the ball at 40% from beyond the arc. At 6'7, Ryan can be an immediate asset for every NBA team from beyond the arc. His playstyle reminds me a lot of former NBA player Steve Novak.
Cam Young Cam Young reminds me a lot of former NBA player James Young who played at Kentucky. Cam can score at ease, and averaged 20.8 ppg last season for the Cleveland Charge of the G-League. At 6'6 205 lbs, Cam is a player who has the potential to become a very good 6th man in the NBA with his elite ability to put the ball in the basket.

Shaquille Harrison The 6'4 combo guard is one of those players who can do a little bit of everything for you. He can score off the dribble, knock down an open shot, facilitate the offense, but most importantly he plays defense! Shaquille won the 2022 NBA G-League Defensive Player of the year which helped him land 10-day contracts with the both the Brooklyn Nets & Memphis Grizzlies. Playoff contending teams who need perimeter defense will definitely be knocking at the door some point this season.
Nate Pierre-Louis SAYSWHO?! To the average fan you may not know this name yet, but to those basketball junkies who follow the G-League and Summer League you know RF Natty Mr. 94 feet himself is best known for the energy he brings to the floor. Nate spent the 21-22 season playing for the Lakers G-League team the South Bay Lakers. The first thing many notice about Nate's game is he picks up on defense at the inbound. He makes it hard on the other teams PG to bring the ball up the court and set up their offense. On offense Nate attacks the hoop using his 6'5 205 pound frame to his advantage against smaller guards. The best comparison I can come up with is a Gary Payton II, or a Bruce Brown caliber player who will do the little things for the team to win.
Armoni Brooks aka Snipa Brooks has made a name for himself in the G-League, as well as in the Association by being a very capable knockdown three point shooter. With todays NBA playing style, many teams are always in need of good shooters to help spread the floor. Armoni Brooks is a player that can come in instantly and make an impact on any team he joins being able to come in and score in limited minutes.
Cat Barber is the type of guard every NBA team could use to help provide much needed depth. Cat Barber averaged 23 ppg and 8.1 assists for the College Park Skyhawks in the 21-22 season, showing he can be true playmaker on the court in multiple ways. In 28 games for the Skyhawks, Barber shot 42.5% from the 3 point line, as well as averaging 1.2 steals ppg. Barber currently plays overseas in Europe, but he is still a player I would consider to make an impact right away given the chance in the NBA.
Sharife Cooper is one of the more well known names throughout the G-League. Sharife Cooper spent the 21-22 season playing as a 2-way contract player for the Atlanta Hawks. The 21 year old guard has shown he can score and facilitate a offense, and could provide depth at the guard position for an NBA team. Cooper averaged 17.1 ppg for the Skyhawks, as well as 7.3 assist per game. Cooper can provide NBA teams with a spark off the bench, and would be a low risk high reward type of signing for any team in the league.
